Receptive Nature is a body of work I have built up throughout my time here. I have been working within the woodland local to King Edwards, experimenting with new ways of working and trying to find a receptivity to nature. Having an entire term to explore the school's surrounding woodland has been wonderful and has allowed for a deep interaction with this place.
Throughout this time I have been exploring the idea of art as research, seeing myself as both artist and researcher. I have been interested in how the work may translate to other people, playing with the subjective and objective. I find that the personal is itself a unique and valuable means of exploring wilder places, inviting possibilities of more-than-human exchange - an interaction with nature.
